The district's main business is public service, appraisal and exemption administration. The employees who are on our appraisal staff are required to be registered and certified with TDLR. The district provides a retirement program and numerous benefits. Training is provided by the district.

 The Polk Central Appraisal District is now accepting applications for a Residential Field Appraiser.

 Job Summary: 

The Residential Field Appraiser is directed by the Chief Appraiser, Deputy Chief Appraiser and Appraisal Supervisor. Appraisers perform daily operation of onsite field inspection throughout Polk County and will consist of communicating with the taxpayer. You will be working together with other appraisers to complete the task as assigned by the Chief Appraiser. This position will also consist of communicating with the property owners during the formal and informal process.

Key Responsibilities:

· Gather data for assessment by Chief Appraiser and/or supervisor.

· Conduct onsite field inspection.

· Locate a property using computer software.

· Communicate with the taxpayer of the assignment performing.

· Photograph subject property and all structures on property.

· Sketching building exteriors and noting dimensions square footage, depreciation and other data to determine a market value.

· Represent the District during formal and informal hearings.

Minimum Requirements:

· Excellent customer service communication

· Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

· Reliable transportation for field appraisal

Salary: 

Salary is based on experience and qualifications
